Jonny being Jonny.....not from Ocean Class
I had my open class. I think it went really well. My students are the best students in the world. Well in my opinion they are. I really do love these kids. Here are a couple of pictures I took of them when we finished. Those Santa masks took me ages to make!!

I've got the winter blues

Its getting colder and colder and darker and darker and that combinations just doesnt do me any good. I daydream about palm trees and the hot sun far too much in hopes of escaping my reality. I recently became ill with a bad bladder infection and a nasty cold. Im on antibiotics because I wasnt able to treat it naturally and I got 7 more days of treatment. Going to the hospital here is difficult since I dont live in the city. A have to rely on my co-teacher to translate everything for me and show me everything I have to do. Its not fun not being able to be dependent on yourself. I am just going to try to sleep it off and go to bed early when I finish work each day this week.

Tomorrow I have my 2nd open class which means my students parents come to watch. We are doing a Christmas themed class. I think it will go over smoothly....I hope. They are my favorite class. I really love them so much. They are all so sweet and adorable and can speak English very well for 6 year olds. I am making Santa masks out of paper plates and red construction paper for them to wear when they sing Must Be Santa for their open class and then again for sing and dance contest on Friday.

13 days until Christmas!!

Let is Snow

I know I complain about the winter and I despise the snow but I cannot help but getting excited when I see the first snowfall. I woke up this morning for work to see big fluffy flakes falling down from the sky. So pretty!

This photo is a poor representation of what I see. I swear it looks a lot nicer in real life : )

Natalie's Birthday

I did a split!

This guy was a customer and then somehow turned into our bartender
This past week Nat's mother was visiting. I hung out with them a few times with her, it was really nice. We all had dinner on Friday night together at their place then on Tuesday we all went out to dinner for Nat's birthday and also for my bosses husbands retirement celebration. After having dinner with all my co-workers we went to my my bosses new house for a little house warming. She used to live over and hour away but just recently got a place here in Dangjin. It was really nice, we had tea and desserts and just sat around. Most of the time no knowing what was going on because all the Koreans were chatting in Korean but it was still nice none the less. My new co-teacher Hannah who is Korean/Canadian brought her little baby to the house too. He is the cutest little thing I have ever seen! Im not sure if I mentioned her before, but she started working at my work about a month ago. She comes in just for the afternoons and our bosses son just got back from living in Australia and he is working in the afternoons too because we had new classes. Thursday night my friend Jessica and I made a big three layer cake for Nat's birthday party. Let me just say it is no easy task trying to bake a cake in our tiny little apartments with just a big toaster oven thing and no cooking space. There was cake and icing all the over the place. The cake turned out really well and everything was nice from scratch. Friday we went to Seosan the town nearby us to have her party. We brought the cake and went over for dinner and then out for drinks.

Farewell Ashley

My friend from Canada moved back home and we all celebrated after Thanksgiving with her.
Somehow this night I lost my wallet. It had all my Korean cards in it and that night I retraced my steps and couldnt find it anywhere on the street. The next day, I walked down the bar hoping it would be there and nothing, they didnt have it. I had to tell my boss about it on Monday and she phoned around and nobody had it. We filled out paperwork to get my new cards. On Thursday when I came home from yoga, there wasa note in Korean on my door from the post office. I walked down to the post office hoping it was about my wallet....and it was! They had my wallet. Someone had turned it in to the police station. All the money was gone including the change but all my cards were still there. So I got it back!!! Yay!

Thanksgiving

Ashley

My friend Renzo was nice enough to get food for Thanksgiving dinner at an army base here. They made premade dinner packages including a turkey. He had to go to Seoul for this and ended up having a lot of trouble getting back in time due to the buses being booked and the insane amount of traffic happening. We all gathered together at Vivianne's house and just ate a lot of dessert and had drinks until the food arrived. We got the food around 9PM but it all worked out in the end. Everyone got to eat lots and it turned out pretty well.
