This weekend my school went to "Everland". Its like the Disnyland of Korea. We took our 3 7 year old classes there for the graduation trip. It just so happens to be Halloween now so the whole park was decorated for halloween and there was a big parade too. It was a lot of fun. We all split up in small groups so I had 4 kids between Dom and I took look after. We spent all of Friday running around going on different rides then at night we watched a parade and had dinner. For bedtime, we all stayed in a hotel (korean style...which means no furniture). Its very normal to sleep on the floor in Korea. The floors are heating and you just lay on a mat. I totally prefer sleeping on a bed but Im getting used to this whole floor thing. I had to girls and Natty teach in my room. The girls were well behaved and went to sleep rather quickly which was nice. Then Saturday morning it was raining so we had to walk around the park in ponchos. The rain stopped around mid day and we explored the park more and went on a safari. The trip was a success, the kids had a blast, we didnt lose anyone and nobody got hurt! I had fun, I took Zoey on a big rollercoaster! I was surprised she agreed to do it! She just made the heigh requirement! It went upside several times and when we got off at the end I was scared to look over at her and see her in tears but instead, I looked over and saw a huge smile on her face! It was awesome!

Seoraksan Mountain
After school last Friday, Dominic and I took a bus to Seoul. There, we met up with WINK (a group that goes on adventures in Korea). From Seoul, we all took a bus to Seoraksan. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seoraksan
This is a beautiful mountain range on the East Coast of Korea. We arrived there at 3AM. At 3:30 we turned our head torches on and began to walk into the darkness to begin a very long journey through the mountains and valley. After the first hour of steep incline on rocks- I wanted to give up. I didnt think I would be able to finish. We had to do this hike on zero sleep after working all day Friday and it would be a 12-15 hour hike. I got really nervous because there is no easy way down if you want to quit halfway through. I stopped for maybe 5 minutes and thought about heading back down. I decided to push myself and to carry on. Im really happy I did because we did finish at 4PM on Saturday. It was a series of ups and downs in my emotional state and going up was very exhausting. Going downhill was difficult too and really hard on your knees and calves but I really like going downhill. The last 3 hours of the journey were really hard though because I just wanted it to be over!! I dont think Ill ever do another 13 hour hike (maybe) but I am really proud that I completed it and it was a very cool experience. The sights along the way were gorgeous and all the leaves were orange, yellow and red it was just breathtaking.
Here is a video I made of the trip.
